Colorful American financier (1834-1872) who made his fortune on army contracts during the Civil War. He was shot and killed after becoming involved in a scandalous romantic triangle. ANS in pencil, signed “James Fisk, Jr., Prest.,” one page, 5 x 8, no date. Brief handwritten note to "Mr. Bacon." In fine condition, with heavy horizontal folds and a rusty circular paperclip impression to the top. Accompanied by an unsigned carte-de-visite portrait.
