Scarce 1762 document signed by the first Governor of Quebec

Scottish army officer and colonial administrator (1721-1794) who served as governor of the Province of Quebec, where he was sympathetic to the conquered French-Canadians and reassured them of their traditional rights and customs. Manuscript DS in French, signed “Ja: Murray,” one page, 7.5 x 9.25, August 12, 1762. Untranslated document, signed at the conclusion by Murray as governor of the Province of Quebec, with his official red wax seal applied next to his signature. In fine condition.
