Handwritten letter to botanist John Lindley at the "Horticultural Garden," with reference to the great electromagnetic experimenter Michael Faraday. In part: "Mr. Brande acquaints me that you can see the microscope you desire, either by going yourself, or by writing to an optician, whose address Mr. Faraday can give you more exactly, living in one of the small streets opposite Astley's Amphitheatre. The first time I go to the Institution I will enquire from Mr. Faraday." In fine condition, with light staining, and corner losses and a rusty circular paperclip impression to the integral leaf.
