Scottish chemist (1852-1916) who discovered the noble gases and won the 1904 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. ALS signed "W. Ramsay," one page, 4.5 x 7, blindstamped personal letterhead, June 1, 1907. Handwritten letter to "Mr. Rideing," in full: "Provided you are not in a hurry, I shall be glad to give you an article of 3000 words on Lord Kelvin. I have known him since 1868! He was an old class-fellow of my father's; & just last night, I heard him make one of the best speeches I ever heard from him, full of originality & humour. He is chancellor of Glasgow University." In fine condition, with a rusty circular paperclip impression to the top.
