Description

Float, flip, and soar with Apollo 16 Moonwalker Charlie Duke in November 2021

Zero Gravity Flight with Apollo 16 Moonwalker Charlie Duke
November 28, 2021
(With November 29, 2021 a possible additional date if weather conditions force a change)

Bid now on a historic experience of a lifetime. You can be one of only a select few who will be able to fly in Zero Gravity with Apollo 16 Moonwalker Charlie Duke, and float weightless with a man who strolled the surface of the moon during Apollo.

Conducted by For A Better World (www.allforabetterworld.com/space), the flight experience will take place on Sunday, November 29, 2021 (weather permitting). You and a small group of intrepid adventurers will board a specially outfitted Boeing 727 at Kennedy Space Center in Florida and fly parabolic arcs to float, flip and soar with Charlie and the rest of the mission crew as if you were in space, on the moon, and on the surface of Mars.

The process starts with the aircraft flying level with the horizon at an altitude of 24,000 feet. The pilots then gradually increase the angle of the aircraft to about 45° relative to the horizon until reaching an altitude of 32,000 feet. During this phase, passengers feel the pull of 1.8 Gs.

Next, the plane pushes over the top of the parabolic arc and the zero-gravity phase begins. For the next 20-30 seconds, everything in the plane is weightless. Finally, the plane gently pulls out of the maneuver, allowing flyers to gradually return to the floor of the aircraft. The maneuver is flown 15 times over the course of the flight, each taking about ten miles of airspace to perform. In addition to zero gravity, flyers experience lunar gravity (one sixth your weight) and Martian gravity (one third your weight), achieved by flying a wider arc over the top of the parabola.

On a typical flight, the 15 parabolas are flown in sets of three to five, with short periods of level flight between each set.

This auction package includes the following:
- Zero G flight with Apollo Moonwalker Charlie Duke as described above
- Your own ZERO-G flight suit
- Certificate of weightless completion
- Photos and videos of your experience
- A private dinner with Charlie and the rest of the mission crew post-flight
(Package excludes insurance, flight to Florida, hotel stay and other personal expenses.)

Note: This experience is being auctioned by a person who purchased the experience for the actual ticket price of $10,000 but cannot make the flight due to health reasons. Winner will be purchasing this person’s seat on the flight. Opening bid is well below actual cost. Should the bidding exceed the original $10,000 purchase price, those proceeds will be split and donated equally to For A Better World’s two charity partners: www.watercharity.com and www.forestswithoutfrontiers.org. The winning bidder will be contacted by For A Better World after the auction for immediate processing of paperwork and necessary clearances for the flight. All sales final.
