Ballpoint signatures of Queen from their first historic 1973 British tour in which they were the support band for Mott the Hoople. Signed—"Regards, Freddie Mercury," "Roger Taylor," and "Queen, John Deacon," who signs again, "John Deacon, xx"—on an off-white 6.75 x 9 notebook page. Includes an original handbill for a series of United Kingdom concerts featuring Queen and Mott the Hoople between November 12 and December 14, 1973. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds and light soiling to one quadrant.
These autographs were obtained prior to their performance at Liverpool Stadium on November 17, 1973, during their fifth stop on the tour. Their setlist that night was: Procession, Father To Son, Son And Daughter, Ogre Battle, Hangman, Keep Yourself Alive, and Liar. Audio of this performance does exist.
Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA, and a by letter of provenance from the original recipient: "I confirm that these autographs were signed for me, on 17 November 1973, by Freddie Mercury, John Deacon and Roger Taylor, three members of the band Queen. Queen were touring the UK as the support act for Mott The Hoople. The autographs were obtained outside the “stage door” of the Liverpool Stadium (now demolished, it was situated on St.Paul’s Square, off Bixteth Street). John Deacon signed first and wrote “Queen” on the paper, he then took the paper and signed again, after Freddie had signed it. Roger Taylor then signed. Brian May did not arrive with the rest of the band and I was not able to get his autograph on this occasion. I got the flyer on the day of the concert and kept it as a souvenir."
