TLS, one page both sides, 7 x 10.5, November 27, 1923. Letter to Mrs. Harry Hunter, in part: "In the presence of the daintiest box of sweets ever assembled by skilful hands I hasten to thank the dear giver in behalf of the grateful recipients. For my part, ever since the 'Big Four' returned to their homes in the Puritan north, and began sending delicious goodies and charming notes, I have felt as if I were somebody's sweetheart!…Polly arrived Sunday evening with a budget full of news, a wonderful new coat and oh, something the like of which has not been tasted since the good old days when there was no Eighteenth Amendment! The sparkle of it brought light to our eyes, and the color of it a glow to our hearts…Polly said the six puppies she saw at Mrs. Anderson's were darling wee things. I wish I could touch them. Please tell Mrs. Anderson that 'Teacher' is impatient for her Irish setter puppy. There is a special cosy corner in her dog-loving heart waiting for him." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in the hand of Polly Thomson.
