Handwritten letter to Mr. Giddy, in full: "Thank you very much and for your interest in my music. At the present time you probably understand that for me composing is very difficult and I can't commit myself to anything definite. I have a back-log of requests, and all I can say is I will add yours and let the subconscious work on the idea. It was kind of you to send a message from you to send a message from you and Mrs. Giddy, which says words of encouragement and appreciation of 'the heavy emptiness of it all.'"
