Signed book: Strength to Love. First edition. NY: Harper & Row, 1963. Hardcover with dust jacket, 5.75 x 8.75, 146 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in blue ballpoint, "To the Kilgore Family, Whose friendship I cherish so dearly and whose Christian commitment is inspiring to all, Martin Luther King." Autographic condition: fine. Book condition: VG/VG, with moderate rubbing and a few edge nicks to jacket.

Published in 1963, Strength to Love is a collection of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s sermons on the topic of racial segregation in the United States and religious values. Dr. King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for being the 'first person in the Western world to have shown us that a struggle can be waged without violence.' A handsomely signed compilation of King's addresses, with a great inscription evoking his Christian ideals as a Baptist minister.
