NASA engineer (1919-2007) who worked as a manager of the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo CSM, Skylab, Shuttle, and Spacelab programs. He began his career with the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics and retired with Lockheed Martin. Two items: a one-page TLS signed "Kenneth S. Kleinknecht," NASA letterhead, June 11, 1963, addressed to Roger Harris and forwarding a signed photograph of himself—"I believe that my greatest satisfaction has been in being associated with all of this Nation's research airplane programs, that is X-1, D-558, X-2, X-3, X-4, X-5, and X-15 as well as the Mercury Program"; and a glossy 7.5 x 9.75 photo, signed in black ballpoint, "Kenneth S. Kleinknecht," with the reverse bearing faded NASA caption text. In overall very good to fine condition, with scattered creasing to the photo.
