Kittinger, Jr., Captain USAF”; a bank check from noted collector Cornelius Greenway, made payable to Captain Joseph W. Kittinger, Jr., for $1, December 29, 1959, signed on the left side in fountain pen, “Sorry this took so long. J. Kittinger”; a glossy 10 x 8 close-up photo of Simons, wide-eyed inside his capsule, signed in black ballpoint, “Highest regards, David G. Simons,” with another hand adding a date of August 19-20, 1957; and matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of the helium balloon that lifted Simons and his capsule 19 miles above the Earth, signed in fountain pen, “Launch 0925 CDT 19 Aug 1957, Landing 1435 CDT 20 Aug 1957 > 100,000´, Crosby Minn to Frederick S.D., David G. Simons, Major.” In overall very good to fine condition, with some creasing to the Simons photos.
