Handsome sterling silver cigarette case, 4 x 3, featuring a presentation inscription engraved on the back, "To John M. Korner, With every good wish," and the engraved facsimile signature of John J. Pershing below. The front of the case features Korner's monogram, "JMK," and is hallmarked on an inner edge. Includes a "General Pershing" visiting card, with a note written to Korner in another hand: "Sincere thanks for your cordial Christmas greetings—and best wishes," with its original mailing envelope, postmarked 1936. In fine condition, with expected tarnishing to the case.
