Revered English portrait painter (1723-1792) remembered for his promotion of the 'Grand Style.' ADS, signed “J. Reynolds,” one page, 7.75 x 3, August 18, 1786. Handwritten receipt for a payment for paintings, in full: "Received August 18th 1786 from Woodcock the sum of two hundred and sixty one pounds ten shillings, for Pictures done for the late Earl of Tenet, in full of all demand." In fine condition, with light soiling and intersecting folds.
