Vintage glossy 8 x 10 portrait photo of Tim Holt in a cheerful front-facing Western pose, signed in fountain pen. In fine condition, with a small tear in the upper right border.
A popular Western star during the 1940s and early 1950s, Holt appeared in forty-six B westerns released by RKO Pictures. In a career spanning more than four decades, Holt is best remembered for his roles in the films The Magnificent Ambersons (1942) and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948). Holt's career received a boost in September 1941 when Orson Welles cast him as the lead in his second film, 1942's The Magnificent Ambersons. 'It was a lucky decision,' Welles later said, calling Holt 'one of the most interesting actors that's ever been in American movies.'
