Union Army general (1825-1892) who commanded the famed Philadelphia Brigade from October 1861 to November 1862. Desirable 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite photo of William Wallace Burns, signed at the bottom of the image in ink, "Wm. W. Burns, Bvt. Brig. Genl.," and also signed on the reverse in the same manner. In very good to fine condition, with light staining to the borders, and old mounting residue on the back which affects the second signature.
