ALS, two pages, 5.5 x 8.25, Riverby letterhead, November 15, 1915. Handwritten letter to American dramatic critic and author William Winter, in part: "I have had one letter from you during my long life, but you have had none from me. So I am writing you a line…Like all good fruit you have grown sweeter as you have grown riper…Much of your literary output is outside of the field of my interests, which is a narrow one, but I know your English books well & have enjoyed them. It was a delight to hear you recall the old 'Saturday Press' days & the generation of writers to which we both belong." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope neatly addressed in Burroughs's hand; the docket "John Burroughs" on the front of the envelope is in William Winter's hand.
