Famed volunteer nurse during the Civil War, suffragist, reformer, and editor of The Agitator and the Woman's Journal (1820-1905). AQS on an off-white 6.75 x 7 sheet, signed and dated at the conclusion in ink, "Mary A. Livermore, April 2, 1870." Livermore writes: "Since right is right, as God is God, / And right is sure to win, / To doubt it is disloyalty, / To falter is to sin." In fine condition, with light toning to the bottom. Accompanied by an unsigned carte-de-visite photograph of Livermore, affixed to a larger card by its top edge.
