Description

Neat ink signature, "With my best respects to Mrs. Trumbull, I remain, Dear Sir, your very humble and obed't serv't, John Quincy Adams," dated at Ghent, 1814,” on an off-white 5.5 x 1.5 slip clipped from the close of a letter. In fine condition, with a faint block of toning. At this time, Adams was in Ghent as an American peace commissioner, negotiating the end to the War of 1812.
