American muralist, illustrator, and painter (1852-1911) who is best known for his drawings and paintings of Shakespearean and Victorian subjects, as well as for his painting of Edward VII's coronation. His most famous set of murals, The Quest of the Holy Grail, adorns the Boston Public Library. Fountain pen signature, "Dec. 21, 1899, Very faithfully yours, Edwin A. Abbey,” on an off-white 4.5 x 7 sheet of Morgan Hall, Fairford, Gloucestershire letterhead. In fine condition, with a central horizontal fold.
