Description

Two TLSs, each one page, 8 x 9.75, personal letterhead, dated August 19, 1912 and January 6, 1913. The first, to P. J. Logan in Saratoga Springs, in full: "I sincerely wish that I could go to Saratoga Springs, but, alas, because of other engagements it is impossible for me to do so. Won't you express to all my friends there my sincerest regrets and tell them how much I appreciate your invitation?" The second, to Fred H. Lavey, in part: "Allow me to thank you most warmly for your kind letter. I appreciate it very much indeed. I beg to assure you that the suggestion you make will be most carefully considered and wish to thank you for making it." In overall very good condition, with heavy creasing and staining to the earlier letter. Accompanied by a booklet entitled 'President Wilson's War Address to congress and Proclamation.'
