Handwritten letter to "My dear Son," in part: "I have a letter from Kimble fixing Wednesday of next week for your visit to me…I am not yet fairly over a cold I took coming home, & should not have a moment to entertain the idea of visiting N. York nor any other place this winter." In fine condition, with scattered light foxing. Accompanied by five handwritten letters by his son John Van Buren, a notable lawyer and politician in his own right.
