Letter to Charles Burnham, in part: "I have received your letter, asking me to be a guest of the Theatre Managers Association of New York at their annual banquet of February 7th. I desire to express my appreciation of the courtesy involved in this invitation and my sincere regret that my arrangements are such as positively to forbid my acceptance." In very good to fine condition, with several rusty paperclip impressions, and show-through at the top and bottom from old mounting residue on the back.
