Bronson…Collector of the Port of New York," in part: "The undersigned residents of the Fifteenth Ward and of the City of New York would most respectfully offer to you the name of Mr. Charles D. Mead, to fill the post of Deputy Collector in the Custom House of the City.” Signed at the conclusion by William M. ‘Boss’ Tweed, and countersigned by nine others. In fine condition, with light soiling, and splitting to the hinge and the central horizontal fold.
