Description

American politician (1760-1833) who succeeded Alexander Hamilton as Secretary of the Treasury under Washington and Adams, and went on to serve as governor of Connecticut. LS signed “Oliv: Wolcott,” one page, 7.5 x 3.75, no date. Conclusion of a letter, in part: "I shall therefore beg the favor of you to obtain some further explanation from Mr. Delesdernier in relation to the business in question and communicate the result thereof to me." Backed by a slightly larger sheet. In fine condition.
