Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Jersey (1737-1791) who is also known as the designer of the first official American flag. Revolutionary War-dated partly-printed DS signed "Fr. Hopkinson," one page, 8.25 x 4, May 30, 1780. Bill of exchange. In full: "At Thirty Days Sight of this Fourth Bill, First, Second and Third not paid, pay to Mr. Thomas Mumford or Order, Thirty Dollars, in One Hundred and Fifty Livres Tournois, for Interest due on Money borrowed by the United States." In fine condition, with a small adhesive remnant to reverse.
