Handwritten letter to "General Strong," in part: "Your beautiful present the Winchester Express Rifle came to hand on Saturday last. In as much as you had made up your mind to leave with me such an expression…of our friendship & trips together in the far west, you could not have selected anything which will be so highly prized and appreciated as this gun. I will use it myself until my hunting days are over, & will leave it unto my boy as a souvenir of the happy days spent with my very dear friend & companion Gen'l W. E. Strong." In fine condition.
