Description

ADS, signed "Wm. Williams, Just. Pacis" and "Jonth. Trumble," one page, 7.25 x 8.5, May 5, 1763. Handwritten Colony of Connecticut financial document by William Williams, concerning the administration of an estate and the abatement of the debts of several "very poor" people. Signed at the conclusion by Trumbull (using the original spelling of his surname) and Williams. Mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 14 x 15.5. In fine condition. Trumbull (1710-1785) would go on to serve as governor of Connecticut, and was the only colonial governor to side with the Americans during the Revolutionary War; Williams (1731-1811) would serve as a delegate for Connecticut to the Continental Congress in 1776, and was signatory of the Declaration of Independence.
