Desirable bronze-patina alloy bust statue of Abraham Lincoln by Philadelphia sculptor Joseph A. Bailly (1825-1883), measuring 10″ tall, 6.5″ wide, and 4″ deep, marked on the back, "Patent J. Bailly, May 1865, Warner Miskey Merrill, Phila." In fine condition. Bailly is also known for his designs of the U.S. 1873 Trade Dollar and the statue of George Washington that stands in front of Independence Hall. His bust of Lincoln was mass-produced for the grieving public after the president's assassination.
