Description

Army Air Forces pilot who took part in the World War II atomic bomb raids on Hiroshima and Nagasaki as commander of the Necessary Evil. World War II-dated hand-addressed and signed envelope panel, 7.25 x 4, postmarked August 29, 1945, addressed by Marquardt to his wife, "Mrs. George W. Marquardt, 724 So. 7th East, Salt Lake City, Utah," signed in the lower left corner, "George W. Marquardt." Marquardt also incorporates his name and rank as part of his return address in the upper left, "Capt. Geo. W. Marquardt." In fine condition. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder, grading the autograph as "NM-MT 8."
