TLS signed “S. L.,” one page, 7.25 x 7.75, personal letterhead, July 5, 1945. Annoyed letter to Margaret Harding of the University of Minnesota Press. In full: "Did I ever say I'd do a book for you? I doubt it. I deprecate it. I deny it. I have gone into the alfalfa seed business. I have gone to China. It is cold here in China. But I like it, because no one does any books." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, postmarked at Duluth, Minnesota.
