Prince George congratulates the King of the Two Sicilies on the birth of his grandson, "a Prince, who is to bear the name of Antonio"

LS signed “George P. R.,” one page, 7.25 x 9.25, November 12, 1816. Letter to to King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies, in part: "I have felt great pleasure in the Receipt of Your Majesty's Letter of the 1st ultimo, announcing that Your Daughter in Law, The Hereditary Princess of the Two Sicilies, was, on the 23d of September last, safely delivered of a Prince, who is to bear the name of Antonio. I heartily congratulate Your Majesty on this joyful event, and sincerely hope that it may add to the permanent Felicity of Your Illustrious House." The address panel retains two red wax seals. In fine condition. Prince Antonio, Count of Lecce, renowned as a womanizer, was clubbed to death at age 26 by the jealous husband of a married woman he had tried to seduce.
