The Salisbury and Winchester Journal, January 25, 1779, printed in Salisbury by J. Johnson. "Col. Campbell was safely arrived at Charlestown, South Carolina, with 2000 men from Rhode Island, where he was received with open arms by the people in general, who were heartily tired of the Congress." "[A] number of people in Virginia, Carolina, and the Jersies, had been disarmed by order of the Congress, having discovered very strong symptoms of inclining to a revolt." Announcement of the death of David Garrick, Esq., famous actor of the British stage.
