Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1726-1797) who also signed the Articles of Confederation and served as a major general in the Connecticut Militia during the Revolutionary War. Partly-printed document with autograph endorsement signed “Oliver Wolcott, Sheriff,” one page, 6 x 2.5, February 15, 1757. Litchfield County legal document concerning the recovery of a judgment in the amount of £1.16.03, endorsed on the reverse by Wolcott: "Feb'ry 7th, 1757, Received in full satisfaction of the within execution, pr. Oliver Wolcott Sheriff, Litchfield, 15th Feb'ry 1757." In fine condition, with light toning from prior display.
