Prince's metallic gold-tone waist chain belt worn on stage during the 1984 Purple Rain Tour and thrown into the crowd, measuring 29.75″ long unclasped, with an elegant flat chain-link design. In fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance, in part: "I got this chain link belt at a Prince concert in Landover, Maryland in November 1984…At the time, Prince would wear several of these chain link belts around his waist, and at some point during his concert he would take them off and toss them to the audience. I was lucky enough to have it tossed into my lap."
Prince played seven shows at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland, near the start of his iconic Purple Rain Tour, with residencies from November 18-20 and November 26-30, 1984. One of the Landover performances of 'I Would Die 4 U' / 'Baby I'm a Star' was recorded and used as a promo video for the song played on MTV. A great stage-worn jewelry piece from Prince's most famous tour.
