Description

"If you're still able to lend me that 100 bucks please send it quick, will you? Need it desperately"

ALS signed “Henry,” one page, 8.5 x 11, February 15, 1954. Handwritten letter to "Bob," in full: "If you're still able to lend me that 100 bucks please send it quick, will you? Need it desperately. I can pay you back in a week or two. Am getting several sums from Japan now—definitely. Just had word from Hoffman, Paris, that monies would be sent to me direct—thru Vermont Office of Jap.-Amer. agent. Rushing to town now. Will get off a real letter shortly." In fine condition. Up until 1961, France and Japan were the only countries that published Miller's novels, which were banned in the United States on the grounds of obscenity.
