ALS, one page, 5.75 x 7.75, July 15, 1946. Letter to poet Sanders Russell, stylishly written with parentheticals and line breaks evocative of his poetry, in full: "Please correct errors of the enclosed proof & send me its (let us hope) perfect successor. As one human being, am delighted that another has the courage to come wholly in for freedom instead of (with a hundred million 'American' serfs) going ally out against 'fascism'; as an artist, am honoured to be taken seriously. Here's wishing you & yours the best of luck—vin la vie." In fine condition, with Cummings evidently retracing his own signature. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Cummings's hand and incorporating his surname in the return address on the flap.
