Description

Handwritten lyrics for 'The Letter,' the 1967 hit single by The Box Tops, penned in black ink by Garry Talley on an off-white 8.5 x 11 musically lined sheet, with Talley signing in the upper border. The lyrics, in full: "Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane / Ain't got time to take a fast train / Lonely days are gone, I'm goin home / My baby just wrote me a letter / I don't care how much money I gotta spend / Got to get back to my baby again / Lonely days are gone, I'm goin home / My baby just wrote me a letter / Well she wrote me a letter, said she couldn't live / without me no more, Listen Mr., can't / you see I got to get back to my baby / once more, Anyway, yeah…" In fine condition, with binder holes to left border.
