Description

Lawyer and signer of the Constitution from Delaware (1732-1808) who also served as an officer during the Revolutionary War, governor of Delaware, and governor of Pennsylvania. ALS, one page, 7.25 x 5.25, October 15, 1771. Letter to William Dillwyn, whom he addresses as "Esteemed Cousin," in full: "If you will call at Fairhill on your Return, or will leave an order with any person in Philadelphia, I will pay £500 more." Framed within a larger display that measures 19 x 11.5. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original invoice from Joseph Rubinfine.
