Scalloped-top ship's pass issued to the "Ship Imperial of New York, Peter Destebecho Jr. master or commander…To Pass with her Company Passengers Goods and Merchandize without any hinderance seisure or molestation." Signed at the conclusion by President Monroe and Secretary of State Adams. The beige paper seal remains affixed to the lower left. Mounted, matted, and framed with two engravings bearing facsimile signatures to an overall size of 36 x 23.5. In fine condition, with light soiling and creasing.
