Lead vocalist, primary lyricist, and founding member (1948-1977) of Lynyrd Skynyrd, who was killed in the tragic 1977 plane crash that took the lives of three band members. Choice vintage felt tip signature, "Ronnie Van Zant, Lynyrd Skynyrd Band,” on a light blue 2.5 x 2.75 album page (as seen in the mat; consignor notes that it is 5 x 3 underneath). Double-matted and framed with a photograph to an overall size of 12 x 14.75. In very fine condition. Consignor notes that it was obtained on October 31, 1975, by the doorman who worked at Sheffield City Hall in England, where Lynyrd Skynyrd was playing toward the end of their Nuthin' Fancy Tour. An exceptionally bold, neatly penned autograph of the Southern rock icon.
