Vintage fountain pen signature, "It is an accomplishment to make 'baggage' poetic, Amelia Earhart, Jan. 5, 1933,” penned at the bottom of a 4.25 x 6.5 book page bearing a poem entitled 'Only Baggage,' written on June 20, 1928, which cleverly describes her participation in the flight. Matted and framed with a photo and FDC to an overall size of 16.5 x 18.5. In fine condition. The title of the poem, 'Only Baggage,' is how Earhart often described herself after she accompanied pilot Wilmer Stultz aboard the Fokker Trimotor ‘Friendship’ when it flew from Newfoundland to South Wales on June 17-18, 1928, which cemented Earhart as the first woman passenger to cross the Atlantic Ocean by airplane.
