Franking signature, "Free, A. Hamilton," on a 5.75 x 3.25 mailing envelope addressed in another hand to “Joseph Hiller, Esquire, Collector of the Customs, Salem, Massachusetts,” with upper right marked "Treasury Department" and bearing a “FREE” stamp. Docketing on a reverse flap dates the envelope to August 29, 1792. In very good to fine condition, with staining along the two vertical folds, and Hamilton's signature a couple of shades light. Hamilton is seldom seen in this format.
