Description

Souvenir typescript from Hillary's book 'High Adventure,' two pages, 8.5 x 11, signed at the conclusion in black felt tip, "E. P. Hillary." An excerpt from Hillary's description of summiting the world's tallest mountain, in part: "Peering from side to side, and thrusting with my ice-axe, I tried to discover a possible cornice, but everything seemed solid and firm. I waved Tenzing up to me. A few more whacks of the ice-axe, a few very weary steps, and we were on the summit of Everest." In very good condition, with staining, paper loss, and splitting along fold ends. Accompanied by an unsigned clipped magazine photo.
