Rare vintage satin-finish 8 x 11.5 silver gelatin photo of Mick Jagger by Cecil Beaton, which was taken in 1968 when he appeared as the elusive rock star Turner in the celebrated British crime drama film Performance. Reverse bears two Beaton credit stamps. In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
Sir Cecil Beaton was a British fashion, portrait, and war photographer (1904-1980), who was also a talented stage and costume designer for films and the theatre; his work in 1964's My Fair Lady won him Oscars for Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design. For over a half a century Beaton photographed many of the world's biggest stars and public figures, including Pablo Picasso, Winston Churchill, Marlon Brando, Greta Garbo (his onetime lover), Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, and many more.
