(Walt Disney Studios, 1940) Original production color model drawing of Pinocchio from the film of the same name, which shows the title character during the 'Give a Little Whistle' sequence, holding up his hand and hat in a half-length pose that measures 5 x 5.75, with artist note to right side: "Please use new inks." Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on slightly trimmed 11.75 x 10 animation paper marked and stamped in the upper right corner: "15" and "Model Drawing, Return to Eunice Samuels." The lower right is marked "Firelite" and stamped as "Production No. 2003, Seq. No. 1.6, Sc. No. 15, Cell Level 2, Same as 47." In fine condition, with some light creasing and paper loss to right edge; the back of the sheet has been professionally laminated. Eunice E. Samuels worked in Disney's Ink and Paint Department in the late 1930s and early 1940s, likely in a supervisory role which required her to track and account for the model drawings that were essential to the production of the film.
