Leading American epidemiologist, bacteriologist, and educator (1855-1921) who was a key figure in shaping public health in the United States; he was one of three founders of the joint MIT-Harvard School of Public Health in 1913, and was named president of the American Public Health Association in 1915. In full: "I am sorry that I am to be away on the 17th and am therefore unable to accept your very kind invitation to your annual meeting." In fine condition.
