TLS, one page, 6 x 9, on the reverse of Hotel Marseilles stationery, August 30, 1939. Letter to literary agent H. N. Swanson, in full: "Everyone else seems to be getting the breaks these days; how about giving me one too? I remember you queried me a year or so ago about stories, the thing is the suggestion remained sort of vague in my own mind, and with my twelve-year-old mind it seems necessary to go into exact details. Do you want the carbons or originals, pre-published or not; that sort of thing. Above all, of course, do you care to try to work with me? After all, you've known me longer, probably, than most of your present clients; so I'm hoping you do. If so, drop me a line back and let me know what I can do to cooperate." In fine condition, with mailing folds, and staple holes to upper left corner.
