Brazilian diplomat (1876-1954) who, while serving as the ambassador to France and the Vichy government during the German occupation, saved hundreds from persecution by the Nazis by issuing diplomatic visas for entry into Brazil. ALS in French, one page, 5.25 x 8.25, Hotel Ritz letterhead, November 20, [1945]. Untranslated letter written just after his return to Paris, where he lived temporarily at the hotel. In fine condition.
