English poet (1926-2001) known for her lyric poetry and mastery of form. Handwritten poem entitled "The Jump," signed "Elizabeth Jennings," one page, 8 x 10, no date. Jennings pens a poem on suicide, beginning: "They say there was no plan. Why are they sure? / Apparently the police have evidence, / one clue, they think, is that she had with her / new clothes, just bought. Now who would lay their plans / for death, and then go in a shop and buy / an anorak and shoes? Yes, they insist / that human beings who elect to die / do not behave with such a curious twist." In very good to fine condition, with small stains, scattered light creasing, and a tiny hole near the top edge.
