Original unsigned red felt tip doodle and notations by John Lennon on an 8 x 7 sheet of off-white memo paper, circa 1969. Lennon writes the titles of several short films he created with Yoko Ono, including Rape (December 1968), Two Virgins (August-September 1968), Smile (August 1968), and You Are Here (the title of an art exhibition held on July 1, 1968). "You Are Here" is also the title of a song on Lennon's 1973 Mind Games album. He has also written "Smile" two times and "RA," then crossed them out. Beneath his notations are nicely detailed facial caricatures of himself and Yoko Ono. The item was originally in the collection of noted 'Apple Scruff' Lizzie Bravo. In very fine condition. Lennon’s self caricatures during this period are much more detailed than those produced in earlier years. While many self portraits with Yoko were produced to please fans, these are original manuscript notes where he playfully added his classic self-caricature.
